This fundraising initiative is to provide funds to Nations Skate Youth (https://nationskateyouth.com/) . Thanks to Ingrid from Barasavon (barasavon.ca) and collaboration with Wakefield Skateboard Association we will be donating 100% of proceeds to Nations Skate Youth.

The Wakefield Skatepark Association is rasing money for Nations Skate Youth to help support the push of getting indigenous youth into skateboarding. Skateboarding helped pro skateboarders like Joe Buffalo work through all of the trauma that was caused by being placed in the residential school system. The WSA will donate all of the proceeds to Nations Skate Youth.

The Wakefield Skatepark Association also acknowledges that we are located on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Algonquin Anishinabe Nation whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial.

We recognize the Algonquin people as the customary keepers and defenders of the Ottawa River Watershed and its tributaries. We honour their long history of welcoming many Nations to this beautiful territory and uphold and uplift the voice and values of our Host Nation.

@lebarasavon donated over 50 bars of soap to the WSA and we're selling them all for @nationskateyouth . We want to help make skateboarding accessible for more indigenous youth.
